Hmmm, you disagree with ID, then I suppose that you can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that evolution is how it all happened? The trouble is you can't, you weren't there no one was. Evolution has as much to back up it's assertions as ID does or as does the idea that aliens dropped us off. To dismiss someone's beliefs is your right, but it doesn't mean that you're right.
I don't need proof. Just as you don't need proof of God, I don't need proof of evolution. And this is kind of a "your way, my way" kind of deal. In my mind, I AM right, because no one can really convince me otherwise. I also think it's ok to sell drugs and hit women.
Right or wrong is a matter of perspective.
Oh I imagine that you have what you consider proof - the fossils (even though there are gaps), carbon dating (even though various flaws and errors have been shown regarding it) - but to me the bottom line is that to 'believe in it' takes some faith; no less than it takes for me to believe in God. The fact that I believe in God means I don't live a "your way, my way" kind of thing. I have specific reasons why I live the way I live which are beyond the "cause I feel like it" or "because it makes me feel good" or any other feeling types of things.
Your final statement showed me the difference between me and you - my right and wrong is based on what I know to be absolutes, it is VERY black and white, very right or wrong. Your right and wrong can obviously change, depending upon your perspective. Today it's wrong, tomorrow, depending upon where you are and what you are involved in, if it suits you, it no longer is wrong, it's right.
